What is a window gasket?
A window gasket is also known as a window seal. The window gasket is a rubber strip that can be fitted in to hold in glass or be a draught excluder. You will normally find a window gaskets around windows and doors.Advantages of a window gasket
A window gasket has a few advantages if they are fitted in correctly and are air tight around the window or door. The first advantage of a window gasket is to keep the noise from wind entering your home through any gaps or from living in a busy area with lots of traffic or people walking around. The second advantage of a window gasket is being a protector of your surfaces and furniture by preventing leaks from rain entering your home. The third advantage of having a window gasket is it can be a money saver, it can help you lower your energy bills especially in the winter by stopping warm air escaping your home keeping it nice and warm and preventing draught coming into your home.How to fit a window gasket
Fitting a window gasket is an easy process and no need for any heavy tools. There is only 3 steps to put in a window gasket.
The first step - Determine which type of gasket you will be replacing.
The second step- Simply remove part of the existing frame match it to the type of window gasket you are looking for (please ensure your measurements are correct).
Final step- Once you have the correct type and size of window gasket seal, simply push the seal tight between the glass and the frame until it forms a tight seal around the window or door.
